This sleepy fishing village has certainly awoken.  The landscape here is impressive and there are multiple lookouts along the way to snap a few photos.  The village is bursting with color: turquoise water, bright fruits, and handmade jewelry sold by traveling artisans.*  Meander through town and trek to Playa Grande, a short boat ride or hike away.  There you’ll be met by clear water, plenty of lounge chairs, and some of the best typical fish dishes available in Santa Marta.  Taganga is a 10 minute bus ride from the hostel, which makes it a perfect day trip.
